DON'T BE A FOOL. WHY ARE YOU PAYING $99.50 MEMBERSHIP FEE TO JOIN QANTAS FREQUENT

Updated: Jan 31, 2019

Skip this post and move on if you are already a QFF member.

Most readers here are already a member of Qantas Frequent Flyer but in case you are not and you are going to start this loyalty points journey with Qantas then continue reading. This post will cover how to bypass one of Qantas' most ridiculous attempt: to rip-off Australian residents by charging a once-off membership fee to join their rewards program.

Unlike other airline loyalty programs Qantas will charge a $99.50 joining fee per person through their website. This fee only applies to new members with an Australian address whereas most overseas residents will get it free, with our Kiwi neighbors being charged NZ$60.

You can save the $99.50 joining fee by simply clicking on one of the links below - I went through the Family Free one myself.

Free Membership Links

Qantas run promotions for free memberships from time to time with their frequent flyer program partners, such as banks and other program partners. It is possible to find a range of promotional application codes, as these links follow a common format.

Miscellaneous

Banks

There is no indication in the terms and conditions that you need to have an account with the specific bank you choose to use the code with, but if you want to play it safe, try one of the first codes listed.

If any of these codes expire, you can always google for new ones.
